Suspected beer thief injured during burglary, arrested after medical call

A suspect in a beer theft was arrested early Tuesday after he fell and was injured in the store that was burglarized, Sacramento police said.

Jose Dominguez, 24, is charged with burglary. Police reported that at about 12:30 a.m. Dominguez broke into a store in the 5500 block of Mack Road and stole beer. He slipped and fell inside the store and was injured while fleeing.

Later, safety officials received a call for medical assistance near the store that had been burglarized. The officer who responded noticed that the subject of the call - Dominguez - was the suspect in the store burglary.

Dominguez was arrested and taken to the hospital. He later was booked into Sacramento County Jail.
