Bicyclist killed in alleged hit-and-run in Stockton

A 58-year-old man riding his bike in Stockton was killed in an alleged hit-and-run crash, and police are now looking for a suspect.

The collision happened Tuesday just after 6 p.m. while the man was riding his bike south across Hammer Lane at Lan Ark Drive, police said. The car that struck him was traveling eastbound on Hammer Lane.

The bicyclist suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Stockton police were able to get a picture of the suspect car, which, according to investigators, did not stop after hitting the bicyclist.

Police are encouraging anyone who may have information related to the crash to call investigators at 209-937-8377.
