A week after a bank robbery at the Bank of the West in Stockton led to the shooting death of Misty Holt-Singh, News10 spoke with former gang member Christen about life in a gang.
Christen said once he heard about the robbery and shootout one thing came to mind.
"When I saw it, it didn't surprise me," he said. "When you are in a gang, you do things you never think you will do."
Stockton police have offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a fourth suspect, believed to have dropped of the three bank robbers. Christen said it may be hard to catch the person.
"To be honest, I am not sure, but there is always a possibility," he said. "Snitching is something you just don't do, especially here in Stockton."
Christen has been working with the Stockton Peace Keepers program that helps kids involved in gangs, or teetering on being involved in gangs, to find an outlet.
As for Christen, he's now on the road to become the first person in his family to graduate high school. He said his future is now a bright one.
"I plan on going into law enforcement to become a corrections officer," Christen said.
