Homicide in Tracy a first in nearly 2 years

It had almost been two years since there was a homicide in Tracy until a man died of an alleged gun-shot wound Sunday morning according to Tracy police spokesman Sgt. Steve Beukelman.

Beukelman said Tracy police officers responded to a shooting in the 1900 block of Notre Dame Ct at 1:21 a.m. where they found a 25-year-old Filipino man with what appeared to be a gun-shot wound.

The man was unresponsive to officers and he was transported to a local hospital where he was announced dead two hours later.

According to Beukelman it had been almost two years since the last homicide in Tracy. The last one occurred in September 2012.

No arrests have been made. Tracy police officers are continuing this investigation.
