Police: 12 people arrested during protest at Stockton City Council meeting

12 people were arrested Tuesday night at a city council meeting in Stockton. Police said the arrests happened during a protest organized by Black Lives Matter.

According to police, three men were arrested for assaulting an uninvolved homeless man during the protest. While police attempted to help the homeless man, protestors charged the scene, according to police, and had to be pushed back.

After the homeless man was taken down, police said protestors then moved into the streets, blocking traffic. After several protestors refused to clear the streets, they were also arrested.
