Police find car possibly connected to Stockton bank robbery suspects

Police located a car they believe is the one three bank robbery suspects used to drive to a Stockton bank Wednesday before a high-speed chase and deadly shootout.

Stockton police Officer Joe Silva said the suspect vehicle was found in the 3200 block of West Creek Drive about four miles west of the robbed Bank of the West on Hammer Lane and Thornton Road.

The suspect vehicle, a dark-colored sedan, was seen on the bank's surveillance video before the robbery. Shortly after the photo was released, police got a tip that led them to the car, Silva said.

Police are looking for the driver of the sedan.

Police said the three suspects, 30-year-old Gilbert Renteria Jr., 27-year-old Alex Gregory Martinez and 19-year-old Jaime Ramos, robbed the bank, took three hostages and led police on an hour-long high-speed chase Wednesday, which ended in a deadly gun battle with officers.

A hostage, 40-year-old Misty Jean Holt-Singh, and suspects Renteria and Martinez were killed in the shootout.

The two other hostages were shot during the chase. They were expected to survive.

Ramos was booked into San Joaquin County Jail on charges of murder, kidnapping and robbery.
