Weather forces Stockton Asparagus Festival to close early Friday

For just the second time in its 29-year history, the Stockton Asparagus Festival closed early during its run.

Friday afternoon, the first day of the three-day event, organizers made the decision to shut down the festival because of heavy rain and lightning.

The festival resumes Saturday and Sunday. The weather forecast calls for clearing skies this weekend, News10 chief meteorologist Monica Woods says.
