Trails along American River Parkway reopen after Winter storms

After months of rain and flooding, many people took to the American River trails to enjoy the weekend's sunny weather (March 11, 2017)

The Jedediah Smith Memorial Trail from mile three to mile 23 reopened Saturday.

The Sacramento County Regional Parks closed many of the trails along the American River Parkway during Winter storms due to flooding and debris.

The parks authority is requesting visitors to share the trails and to pay close attention. The shoulders along the asphalt trails have been washed out or are uneven. Bicyclists, walkers, and joggers may have to share trails in certain areas.

To find out whether or not parks are open or closed you can visit the Sacramento County Regional Parks website.
