Valley Fire brings flames back to area near Hunters Fire

The area impacted by the Hunters Fire has once again been struck by a wildfire.

The Valley Fire covered 90 acres and was 15 percent contained as of 11 p.m. Friday. It is located in Mariposa County across a ridge from the site of the Hunters Fire, which consumed 677 acres in late May and early June.

About 50 homes are threatened by the Valley Fire, and evacuation orders are in place for residents of these streets: the 7900 Block of Hunters Valley Road to Bear Valley Road; Bear Valley Road from Hunters Valley Road to the 4400 block / top of the ridge of Bear Valley Road.

An evacuation advisement is in effect for residents of the 4500 block of Bear Valley Road to Highway 49 North.
