Elderly woman thwarts home invasion with help of medical-alert device

(KTVB) - Police are asking for the public's help in tracking down two armed men believed to be responsible for a home invasion robbery Tuesday morning.

Nampa Police Sgt. Joe Ramirez said the home invasion happened in the 2200 block of Lexi's Lane just before 8:50 a.m.

Both men had their faces obscured during the robbery. Police say the home was targeted at random.

An elderly woman inside the home pressed her fall alert button when the men broke in, scaring off the would-be robbers. The woman was not hurt, and the suspects did not get away with any money or possessions, Ramirez said.

The men left in a small silver or white pickup possibly a Toyota, and were last spotted near the Chevron on Greenhurst Road and Southside Boulevard in Nampa. One is wearing a red shirt, the other is wearing a blue shirt.

Nampa police say the men are armed, and citizens should not approach the pair.Anyone who spots the suspects should call police immediately at at 465-2203 or 343-COPS.
