Sacramento Kings general manager Vlade Divac and head coach Dave Joerger discuss the 32-win 2016-17 season, address the state of the team and talk about upcoming decisions that will be made during the offseason.

The Sacramento Kings have hired Scott Perry as Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations, the team announced Friday.

Perry, who was previously the Assistant General Manager with the Orlando Magic for five seasons, will play a significant role in Sacramento’s front office and assist in day-to-day operations moving forward, though General Manager Vlade Divac will still have final say on decisions.

“I'm thrilled that Scott will be joining our front office team,” Divac said in a team press release. “His extensive experience in the league and management talents will help build on our progress are we work to develop a winning franchise.”

Perry was relieved of his duties with Orlando after General Manager Rob Hennigan was recently fired. His extensive front office experience also includes time with the Detroit Pistons, Seattle Supersonics and Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Perry hire comes one day after the Kings hired Luke Bornn as Vice President of Strategy and Analytics.
