San Joaquin County Sheriff's Deputies arrested two suspects early Saturday morning after an attempted home invasion robbery in Stockton which left one of the suspects hospitalized.
Police said the victim, a man who lives with two elderly parents, was woken up by a male and female demanding money. The suspect then began beating him with a wooden pole.
As the victim fought back, one of the suspects pulled a gun.
"A struggle ensued over the gun, and the victim was able to shoot the female in the leg as he took control of the firearm," police said.
Deputies arrested both suspects. They located the get away car nearby and found a sawed off shotgun.
27-year-old Joshua Keamohuli was booked for assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy, home invasion robbery, and numerous weapons charges. The female suspect, 34-year-old Alicia Agundez, "will be booked for the same charges after medical clearance at a local hospital due to the gunshot wound to her leg," authorities said.
Police said the victim sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries.
