Toddler loses memorial bear of dead father at Maine Mall

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) — A three-year-old boy lost his teddy bear at the Maine Mall and his aunt say it is not just any bear.

Nathaniel Lambert's father died in a car crash on May 17, 2017, leaving behind his young son and girlfriend. The young boy's aunt Molly Whyte says Nathaniel carries around the memorial bear that represents his dead father and has named it "Daddy bear". Whyte says the bear goes everywhere the toddler goes.

Whyte says Nathaniel and his mother were at the Maine Mall Wednesday, Nov. 29 when the bear was lost.

The bear normally wears a sweater stating that it is a memorial bear but the sweater was not on the bear when it was lost, however, Whyte says the stuffed toy is notably heavy and has a zipper down the back.
