West Sacramento shopping center evacuated as police investigate report of suspicious device

Update: Police said they did not locate an explosive device and that the incident has come to a "peaceful resolution."  The owner of the vehicle "will be transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation," according to the Department.

West Sacramento Police are asking people to stay away from the Nugget Market parking lot as they investigate a report of a suspicious device.

Police said that at about 1:45 p.m., a woman called Onstar from her car and said she believed there was a bomb in the car. Police responded and evacuated the lot, located at Jefferson and Lake Washington Boulevard.

The Department's bomb squad is currently at the location with bomb-sniffing K9s investigating the car and the surrounding area, police said.
