St. Francis volleyball coach selected for Hall of Fame

LODI - St. Francis volleyball coach Alynn Wright will be enshrined into the Sac-Joaquin Section Hall of Fame on Aug. 24 at Sacramento's Sleep Train Arena.

Wright is entering her 26th season at St. Francis and is one of a 32-member group consisting of fellow coaches, former athletes, administrators, officials and media to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

"I was completely honored and surprised," said Wright. "I would not have expected it. I am still in shock. It is a tremendous honor. I owe it to the kids here at school and the great coaches I have had over the years."

St. Francis is coming off one of Wright's most successful back-to-back seasons. She led the Troubadours to and appearance in the CIF Division I state championship in 2012, posting a 38-3 overall record.

Wright began her coaching career in Santa Clara in 1982. She went on to coach three seasons with Archbishop Mitty in San Jose. She took over at St. Francis in 1989.

St. Francis won a State Championship under coach Wright in 2005.
