Kings rally to down D-League Select

LAS VEGAS - The Kings began their third contest of NBA Summer League in Las Vegas by allowing the D-League Select team to build a 15 point early advantage, but thanks to a push from Sacramento's starting unit, they were able to rally for a 89-75 victory on Monday, at Thomas and Mack Center.

Ben McLemore scored a team-high 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting, while Derrick Williams had his best game yet, chipping in 17 points.

"I wanted him to be aggressive, I wanted him to use his athleticism and not just settle for jump shots," said Kings' head coach Michael Malone, following the game. "He attacked, got to the post, got to the rim.

"When Derrick Williams plays with aggression and an attack mind-set, he is a very good player. And that's what we need him to do every time he steps on the floor."

Ray McCallum had his best outing as well, leading an up-tempo offense with 10 points and dishing out 12 assists.

Eric Moreland continues to impress Kings' players and coaches with his rebounding and shot blocking ability. He finished with four points, 11 rebounds, and two blocks in 18 minutes off of the bench.
