BOZEMAN, MT - Christian Moon paced four teammates in double figures with 23 points as the Montana State Bobcats closed out the Big Sky Conference regular season with a 71-55 triumph over the Sacramento State Hornets at Worthington Arena.
With the win, Montana State (13-16, 10-10 Big Sky) secured itself a spot in next week's Big Sky Conference Tournament. Flavien Davis netted 14 points for the home team, Antonio Biglow scored 13 points, and Paul Egwuonwu tallied 11 points and nine rebounds.
John Dickson, Dylan Garrity and Mikh McKinney all scored 13 points for Sacramento State (14-16, 8-12).
Montana State shot a lofty 58.3 percent from the field in the first half while holding the Hornets to just 38.1 percent shooting, as it took a 39-28 lead into intermission.
Following a 17-5 run early in the second half, Sacramento State climbed back to tie the game, 47-47, with 12:35 left to play, but the Bobcats ended the contest red-hot, outscoring the Hornets 24-8 down the stretch.
Both teams were strong from the foul line, with Montana State shooting 16- of-18 and Sacramento State draining 18-of-22.
