She currently serves on a global entrepreneurship industry advisory board for the Centers For International Trade Development and has produced a multimedia curriculum in use by the Los Rios Community College District.

A series on wilderness survival earned Cristina recognition from the U.S. Congress and an award winning special she produced called, "ABC10 Remembers" highlighted memories of ABC10's veteran reporting staff. Her work in the Sacramento community on behalf of higher education earned her the 2010 Distinguished Alumni Award from Sacramento State University.

Before joining ABC10, Cristina anchored the number one rated morning news program in Denver, Colorado for KUSA-TV. She also worked as a consumer reporter at KOVR-TV and as a general assignment reporter for KRCR-TV in Redding. She started her television career as a writer for KRBK-TV (now KMAX-TV). Cristina began her journalism career as a newspaper columnist for the Fair Oaks Post and worked for several radio station news departments (including legendary rock station KZAP) before making the jump to television.

Cristina is a proud member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, a graduate of Sacramento State University in Government/Journalism and is currently completing a Master's degree in Communications and Leadership from Gonzaga University.
