It appears one of the most popular card games is jumping on to the iPad.
According to Venturebeat, a version of the Pokemon trading card game will be available on Apple's tablet. News of the game was sparked by a tweet from the Pokemon World Championships in Washington, DC, which appeared to showcase Pokemon Trading Card Game Online running on an iPad.
Venturebeat later confirmed the game with a representative of The Pokemon Company, which is owned by Nintendo.
News of the Pokemon iPad game have helped fuel a spike in shares of Nintendo in the Japanese markets, reports Bloomberg.
Nintendo has been one of the few companies that has stayed away from smartphones and tablets, outside the occasional app such as the Pokedex. In January, Nintendo president and CEO Satoru Iwata said the company was exploring ways to utilize smartphones and tablets to drive customers to their games, reports The Verge.
