After a break in the wet weather on Tuesday, more rain is on the way Wednesday and Thursday. Rain and locally breezy southerly winds will increase over northern California on Wednesday. Most of the rain will fall north of Interstate 80 on Wednesday, and then will slide southward into the Interstate 80 and Highway 50 corridor Wednesday night, and then southward into the San Joaquin Valley on Thursday. The heaviest rain will fall on the West Slope of the Sierra Nevada. Rainfall amounts will range from one-half to one and a half inches in the Valley, one to two inches over the Coastal Range, and two to five inches over the West Slope of the Sierra. This will be a warm storm with some runoff leading to rises in small creeks and streams and the possibility of local flooding in low-lying areas, and minor rock or debris flows in the foothill and mountain areas. Stay tuned for updates on this storm. $$
