SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Desiree Sheppard is the Host and Executive Producer of ABC10’s lifestyle show, “Your California Life,” based in Sacramento where they highlight local businesses, events and nonprofit organizations that make up our Golden State.
Desiree is originally from Southern California and moved to Monterey Bay to attend college at California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB) where she earned her Bachelor of Art degree in Human Communication with a concentration in Journalism and Media Studies.
She moved to Sacramento in 2015 and enjoys calling the Farm-to-Fork Capitol her second home.
Desiree’s first hands-on experience in broadcasting occurred as a college student in 2011 when she interned at KSBW Action News 8 in Monterey.
When her internship came to an end upon graduation, she was granted an editor and production assistant position at the station. After working at KSBW for a few years she applied for the Assistant Producer position in Sacramento for ABC10’s lifestyle show “Sac & Co” at the time and was hired in 2015.
Since then, Desiree has been promoted to the Executive Producer of the show and rebranded the show into its present form entitled, “Your California Life.” She was promoted to the position as the host of the show in January 2022! The rest is history and Desiree is grateful that she’s been given the opportunity to work her way to the top.
