Elisha Machado is excited to return to her home state of California and work with ABC10, the station she grew up watching.
She made the cross-country move back to the West Coast after serving as a reporter/fill-in anchor for FOX61 News in Hartford, Connecticut.
Prior to FOX61, Elisha was an anchor/reporter on California’s Central Coast for KION News. She reported on major stories including a historic wildfire season and a mass shooting at the Gilroy Garlic Festival. The station's coverage of the tragedy received an Emmy nomination.
Her career has also taken her to Boston where she was a political correspondent for WWLP-22News and a web producer for NECN and NBC Boston.
Elisha is a proud graduate of Boston University where she studied journalism and political science. At BU, she was Vice President of the Society of Professional Journalists and actively involved with the University's television station and lifestyle magazine.
Northern California is close to Elisha's heart. She grew up in Fairfield and San Jose. Her goal is to provide crucial information to viewers, uplift community voices and tell stories that make a difference.
When she’s not in front of the camera, she enjoys dancing, volunteering and exploring the outdoors with her Pomeranian, named Cha Cha.
She is also a self-proclaimed foodie and always looking for recommendations for local restaurants and bakeries to try. Let Elisha know your favorite spots by sending her in a message on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter at @ElishaMachadoTV.
