Steve Perry hasn't performed with Journey since 1991. But his fans never stopped believin'. Everyone's buzzing this morning about his surprise appearance Sunday night to join indie-rock band the Eels at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, Minn.

Perry, 65, has had health problems, notes Yahoo.com – arthritis, hip-replacement surgery in 1998, two melanoma-removal surgeries in 2013. But Sunday it just felt "right," said Eels leader Mark Everett, for Perry to return to the stage. After hearing the audience's enthusiastic response to Perry's first song, Everett cracked: "They don't applaud like that for me! I guess I gotta disappear for 25 years!"

Perry then launched into Journey classic Open Arms.
