SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Alt-rock band Cake will play for their hometown when band members take the stage at Golden 1 Center on September 11.
The Sacramento-based band formed in 1991. They released their first studio album, Motorcade of Generosity, in 1994. It's been eight years since their last album, Showroom of Compassion was released in 2011.
Cake is known for adding an environmentally friendly approach to their music and concerts. For starters, they record in a solar-powered studio in Sacramento. There's always a tree on stage during their shows, and they gift a tree to one fan at every concert, according to Goldenvoice. The band keeps a map on their website of all of the trees given at shows.
The band is co-headlining the tour with singer Ben Folds. Duo Tall Heights will also perform.
Pre-sale tickets for the show go on sale Tuesday.
