Mellisa Paul is excited to help viewers “Bring Value Home” as the host of ABC10's lifestyle and talk show Sac & Co, which airs Monday-Friday at 11:30 a.m.
Mellisa joined ABC10 as a member of the weather team in January of 2010, but she is no stranger to interviewing guests and personally connecting with viewers. Her broadcast career spans over a decade including work as a radio DJ, morning news anchor, and entertainment reporter.
During her four years as morning news anchor and meteorologist in Boise, Idaho at KIVI, Mellisa was recognized as "Best Weathercaster" by the Idaho Press Club and was honored with numerous reporting awards.
She also received two Emmy Awards; one in 2008 and the other in 2010 for "Good Morning Live," Idaho's first Emmy Award-winning morning show. Mellisa was also a DJ for KQXR radio in the area and represented the state in the 2000 Miss America Pageant, as Miss Idaho.
Having grown up in the Treasure Valley, Mellisa attended Albertson College of Idaho before graduating from BSU with a Bachelor in Arts in Theater. She also attended the Oxford School of Drama in Oxford, England where she specialized in Shakespearian Acting. Her education allowed her to travel and study in a number of countries including Greece, Turkey, Italy, Great Britain and Ireland.
After receiving her degree, Mellisa moved to Los Angeles to work as an actor in TV, theater and major motion pictures and also worked for a time for a major record label and the Hollywood Bowl. She eventually left Hollywood behind to pursue her career goals in broadcasting.
In 2009, Mellisa was recognized as one of Idaho's 'Accomplished and Under Forty' by the Idaho Business Review, an award based not only on professional achievements, but community service. Mellisa is proud to use her passion for helping others in her role as TV host…and also in her extended management position at ABC10.
In addition to serving as the host of Sac & Co, Mellisa is also the Community Liaison for ABC10, overseeing and coordinating all station events and partnerships, like ABC10 and The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Toy Drive, Food for Families Campaign, Teacher of the Month and Teacher of the Year, ABC10’s Reading Connects initiative and 10 Books to Read program plus…many…many other community projects and events.
In 2014, Mellisa flew to Los Angeles to accept the John Swett Award for Media Excellence for ABC10’s Teacher of the Month Series. This state wide award is the highest honor bestowed upon media professionals by the California Teachers Association.
Mellisa is also a certified Broadcast Meteorologist from Mississippi State University.
Mellisa and her family (husband Greg and daughters Abigail and Lila) are proud to call Sacramento home.
