If you’re shipping via FedEx, or receiving a package, and are worried about package theft, there are a number ways to get some peace of mind. FedEx allows people to customize their deliveries to their schedules to help ease concerns about package theft.

Those options include:

Alternate locations -

Send the package to your workplace, family member, or friend who will be home. Drop-off services are also available at certain retailers and FedEx Ship Centers like Walgreens, Rite Aid, Krogers, and Albertsons.

Sending it to a FedEx location -

Deliveries can be sent to FedEx office locations and held for up to five business days. There is no additional cost.

Requesting a signature -

High-value items, or items you don’t want left unattended, can be given requirements for signature verification. Both shippers and recipients can make this request.

Vacation holds -

If you’re heading out on vacation, you can request a special hold on all shipments for up to 14 days.

Instructions for package drop-off -

Request the delivery driver to ring the doorbell, knock on the door, or leave the package in a specific spot.

Schedule a delivery -

You can pick a date and delivery time that works with your schedule.
