PLEASANTON, Calif. — For over 100 years, the Alameda County Fair has shown off the agriculture, livestock, and culture of the county all while having a good time through rides and games.
They do it so well they're recognized as one of the best fairs in the country.
This year, Alameda will continue its tradition of celebrating the county's bounty by adding a new ride and more ways to celebrate the people that live in the county.
What's at the fair?
Aside from horse racing, games, and the usual livestock showings, the fair will have a few things that are different this year, said Angel Moore, vice president of business development for the Alameda.
First, there will be a new ride called the Mega Flip that takes a different spin on your typical thrill-seeker ride. It sends riders into four different "swinging booms" while spinning
The fair will have "Fiesta a la Feria" to celebrate the Latino community in Alameda County on June 16.
"Out at the Fair" will be a time for the community to celebrate the LGBTQ community at the fair June 22.
The "Asian Pacific Celebration at the Fair" and the "Bollywood at the Fair" will be held June 23 and June 30, respectively, to celebrate the Asian, Pacific Island and Indian communities of Alameda.
“The Alameda County Fair prides itself on community and inclusiveness,” Moore said. “We are excited to introduce these new festivals to recognize the importance that diversity plays in all communities throughout the Bay Area.”
The fair will also host musical performances by Vince Neil of Motley Crue, Trace Adkins, Ashanti, Loverboy, Gin Blossoms, Sheila E., Ramon Ayala and many more.
A full schedule of events can be found on the Alameda County Fair website.
