CERES, Calif. — One person is dead and three others injured after a late-night shooting in Ceres on Sunday.
The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene in the 3600 block of Spruce Avenue just before 10 p.m. Deputies say when they arrived, they found three people suffering from gunshot wounds. All three victims were rushed to the hospital, where one died from their injuries, the sheriff’s office said.
A fourth victim later arrived at the hospital suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The conditions of the three other gunshot victims were not released.
Investigators have not given any information regarding a possible suspect or suspects for this incident and it is unclear what led up to the shooting.
Family and friends of the victim would not comment on the shooting.
Charlene Buck, who lives across the street from where the shooting happened, said she heard close to fifteen gunshots while inside her apartment.
"Came out. One of them was laying down. Another was trying to walk," Buck recalled. "They were trying to help each other. It was just a real sad situation. It's just scary. I wanted to help, but what do you do?"
