3 dead in possible Southern California murder-suicide

The dead weren't positively identified but police believe they were a mother in her 50s, a father in his 60s and a son in his 30s, the Register reported.

IRVINE, Calif. — The badly decomposed bodies of three people were found in a Southern California home Wednesday in what may have been a domestic dispute that ended in murder-suicide more than a year ago, authorities said.

Police discovered the bodies of the three adults at about 10:30 a.m. after Canadian authorities asked them to check up on the welfare of the people living there, who hadn't been in contact with relatives for more than a year, Lt. Bill Bingham told the Orange County Register.

The home is in a gated community. The dead weren't positively identified but police believe they were a mother in her 50s, a father in his 60s and a son in his 30s, the Register reported.

They were believed to have been there for a year to 16 months. A handgun was found near one of the bodies, authorities said.

The home didn't show any signs of forced entry and detectives believe the deaths resulted from a domestic dispute, Bingham said.
