Authorities said the initial report was that he was barricaded in a bedroom armed with a gun and knife, holding a person against their will.

After law enforcement set up a perimeter, deputies said multiple occupants left the home where the event was occurring, including the person allegedly held at gun point.

Around 6:15 p.m., authorities said Carpenter came to the front door and was then taken into custody.
