CHP: 27-year old man dead after hit and run collision on Walerga Rd

According to the California Highway Patrol, the suspect vehicle fled the collision scene immediately and has not been located.

ANTELOPE, Calif. — Authorities say one man is dead after a hit and run collision on Walerga Road.

The incident occurred on Jan. 27 around 6:18 p.m. at Walerga Road and Big Cloud Way.

California Highway Patrol officials determined that an SUV and a motorcyclist riding a 2006 Honda Shadow motorcycle were traveling southbound on Walerga Road when they collided.

CHP and fire personnel arrived to the scene to find the motorcyclist, 27 from Foothill Farms, dead as a result of the collision. The SUV driver was said to have immediately fled the collision scene and has not been located.

The SUV is described as a newer model large black SUV, akin to a Cadillac Escalade or Chevy Suburban, with tinted windows and damage on its right rear side.

Authorities with the CHP are still investigating the incident, and it is unknown if drugs and alcohol were a factor in the collision. At this time, no arrests have been made.

Those with any information on the collision are asked to contact the North Sacramento Area CHP Office.
