The man and woman were stabbed multiple times, according to Jason Jimenez, public information officer with Elk Grove PD. He said the man suffered life-threatening injuries. Both received medical attention on the scene before they were transported to a nearby hospital.

Mauck was found driving around the neighborhood when he was arrested. He was taken to the Sacramento County Main Jail.

“Once the victims are in a place where they are able to talk to our investigators, that will happen,” Jimenez said.

He said the case will then be handed over to the District Attorney’s Office.
