SACRAMENTO, Calif — Customers and community members of Sacramento visited 18 Dutch Bros locations and raised $64,441 in honor of Officer Tara O'Sullivan.
Nikol Grubbs, the owner of Dutch Bros Sacramento, said that Dutch Bros wanted to allow for the community to come together and honor O'Sullivan's courage and service.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Sacramento Police Department and the friends and family of Tara O’Sullivan,” Grubbs said in a press release. “We are thankful for her commitment, bravery and service to our citizens.”
The 18 Dutch Bros locations vowed to donate $1 of every drink purchased June 26 to the Officer Tara O'Sullivan Memorial Fund. Bethany Gilbert, a spokesperson for Dutch Bros, said the following 18 locations participated in this fundraiser:
- Citrus Heights
- Elk Grove
- Fair Oaks
- Granite Bay
“We are so thankful that our customers came together to show such love and support in this time of sadness,” Grubbs continued in the release.
The California Association of Highway Patrolmen Credit Union organized the fund.
O'Sullivan was a Sacramento police officer who was shot and killed June 19 while responding with other officers to a domestic disturbance call.
