Man critically injured after drive-by shooting in Vacaville

The 21-year-old victim and a woman were sitting in a car when another vehicle pulled up and fired "numerous rounds," police said.

VACAVILLE, Calif. — A 21-year-old man is in critical condition after a drive-by shooting in Vacaville, early Tuesday morning, police said.

The shooting happened around 2:20 a.m. in a neighborhood in the 500 block of Robin Drive, on the southeast side of the city. Officers responded to the area on reports of shots fired. When they arrived, investigators said they found the victim in the passenger seat of the car.

According to police, the victim and a woman were sitting in the car when a dark-colored sedan with tinted windows and large rims pulled up and opened fire. The shooters took off heading east on Robin Drive.

The shooters are described as three black males in their early 20s with thin builds and short hair, police said. All three men were wearing dark clothing.

Neither the victim nor the woman has been identified. The woman was not injured.
