Man stabbed to death at Tracy park, victim identified | Update

According to Tracy Police Lt. Trevin Freitas, the 58-year-old male victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

TRACY, Calif. — Noon update:

The Tracy Police Department has identified the victim as 58-year-old Steven Weber.

Police don't believe the victim was from the area, instead traveled to Tracy for business.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Tracy Police Department at 209-831-6550 or 209-831-4847.

Original story:

A man was found stabbed to death Wednesday night at a park across the street from the Boys & Girls Club in Tracy, police confirmed to ABC10.

Tracy Police Lt. Trevin Freitas says the department received a call around 8 p.m. about a stabbing at Powers Park on W. Lowell Avenue.

According to Freitas, the 58-year-old male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He has not yet been identified, but Freitas said the victim does have a history with Tracy Police.

Investigators have not released any information about a possible suspect or suspects.

This attack comes three months after another deadly stabbing at a Tracy park. Back in late August, 64-year-old Parmjit Singh, a Sikh man, was stabbed to death at Gretchen Talley Park. Anthony Kreiter-Rhoads, 21, was arrested for the murder.

Though it is still early in the investigation, Tracy police officials tell ABC10 they do not believe the race or religion of the victim played a role in in Wednesday night's stabbing.

This is a developing story. Check back with ABC10 for updates.
