The crash happened on Oct. 5. CHP says a 2003-2005 White GMC Yukon or Chevy Tahoe was heading eastbound on Olivero Road near Jim Way when the SUV hit 40-year-old Ana Lovins. Officials say she was walking in the roadway when she was hit.

According to CHP, the driver continued down the road until she turned northbound onto Jim Way.

Even though Lovins was taken to a hospital, she eventually passed away due to her injuries.

Consuelo Aguilar, 48 of Modesto, admitted to being the driver in the crash and turned herself in after seeing a social media post from Modesto CHP about the crash, CHP said.
