MODESTO, Calif. — The Modesto Police Department arrested an additional suspect in a 2018 homicide case.
Domonique Lewis, 30, was shot and killed on Aug. 12, 2018, while he was at the AM/PM parking lot at 903 5th Street in Modesto.

Modesto police arrested Gabriel Avila, 31, for his involvement in Lewis' murder, according to a press release from the police department. He was taken into custody on Oct. 14.
Police found Avila working in a field near Garrison Avenue and Maze Boulevard driving a tractor. Police said Avila attempted to run from detectives, but they captured him immediately.
Modesto Police arrested Junior Suarez, 28, and Angel Contreras, 22, during the initial investigation. The two have been in custody since.
