Pedestrian seriously injured after hit-and-run crash in Modesto

A 2003 to 2005 white Chevrolet Tahoe or GMC Yukon was involved in the hit-and-run that occurred around 10:20 p.m. on Oct. 5.

MODESTO, Calif. — A pedestrian suffered major injuries after being struck by an SUV in Modesto over the weekend, authorities said Wednesday.

California Highway Patrol (CHP) said on Facebook that a 2003 to 2005 white Chevrolet Tahoe or GMC Yukon was involved in the hit-and-run that occurred around 10:20 p.m. on Oct. 5. 

The car was driving eastbound on Olivero Road, west of Jim Way, when it struck a pedestrian, who was in the roadway at the time of the incident. 

The victim has not been identified.

The driver of the SUV was identified as a light-skinned woman in her 30s with dark hair. The SUV should have minor damage to its right side, authorities added.
