SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Two people were arrested following a high-speed chase on Interstate 80 that ended in North Sacramento, Monday night.
The incident started when officers were notified to be on the lookout for vehicle involved in a strong-armed robbery all the way in Reno, Nevada. Just before 9 p.m., an officer with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) spotted the suspects’ vehicle driving westbound on I-80 near Riverside Avenue.
When the officer tried to pull the vehicle over, the driver took off. The driver led CHP for a short while on I-80 before exiting at El Camino Avenue. Soon after exiting the interstate, officers said the car pulled over and the male driver and a female passenger jumped out and tried to hide in an RV park.
A Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office K9 unit was called in to help find the two. Both were quickly arrested without incident. Neither suspect has been identified and investigators have not said why the pair was in Sacramento.
