TRACY, Calif. — Update
The lockdown has been lifted at Tracy Learning Center after police placed the suspect in custody.
A charter school has been placed on lockdown after a suspect ran from police Thursday afternoon.
According to Tracy police, the suspect is wanted for attempted homicide. No additional details on the incident were released. Officers believe the suspect is within a certain area of the city — between Acacia Street and Hollywood Avenue and Mae Avenue and East Street — and have called SWAT for help.
The nearby Tracy Learning Center was placed on lockdown as a precaution.
"There is NOT a shooter or armed person on campus," wrote Tracy Police on Facebook.
Police are asking residents in the area to stay out of the area while they deal with the situation.
