TURLOCK, Calif. — A Turlock woman is accused of felony and misdemeanor crimes after police say she involved herself in a fight between her daughter and another young girl last week.
The alleged incident happened on Friday, March 8. According to investigators, the fight started between two female students from Turlock Junior High at Columbia Park, near Columbia Avenue and Farr Street.
Cell phone footage of the fight was recorded by an unidentified witness at the park.
As the two girls were fighting police say, at some point, Barbara Cypress, identified as one of the girls’ mothers, jumped in. Investigators said they won’t speculate on Cypress’ alleged actions, but that “the video speaks for itself.”
Cypress was arrested on Tuesday, March 12, on a felony complaint for false imprisonment and two misdemeanor complaints of child abuse and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She has since been released on bail.
