Evacuation warning issued for Pulga over flooding concerns

The Butte County Sheriff’s Department issued the warning around 3:30 p.m. The warning will last from 10 p.m. until 7 a.m. on Thursday. Residents living in the area are being told to evacuate to high ground before 10 p.m.

An evacuation warning has been issued for the community of Pulga, in Butte County, because of the heavy rain and potential for flooding.

The Butte County Sheriff’s Department issued the warning around 3:30 p.m. The warning will last from 10 p.m.  until 7 a.m. on Thursday. Residents living in the area are being told to evacuate to high ground before 10 p.m.

Pulga is located about nine and a half miles east northeast of Paradise.

The warning was prompted, in part, because the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a flood watch for the area. The NWS flood watch includes parts of the Camp Fire burn scar.
