CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif. — Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District put out a fire in Citrus Heights Wednesday afternoon. 

The fire damaged two homes on Glass Slipper Way near Carriage Court and Three Sisters Court, according to Chris Vestal, public information officer for the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District. One of the homes was burned significantly. He said the fire involved a garage and an attic. 

A woman who lives in the house where the fire started, sustained burn injuries, Vestal said. He also said three cats died in the fire. 

The cause of the fire is not known at this time. Investigators are still working at the scene.
