Gang members sentenced to 176 years in prison

A jury sentenced a San Joaquin man to more than 170 years in prison for the multiple charges including First Degree Murder, Monday.

27-year-old Valentin Vivero was convicted of Murder in the First Degree, four counts of Premeditated Attempted Murder and Shooting at an Occupied Dwelling in March.

Vivero was arrested in September 2015 as part of a 3-month investigation led by the Stockton Police Department's Gang Violence Suppression Unit. They worked in cooperation with other agencies in an operation that resulted in 76 arrests, including leaders of two rival gangs, South Side Stocktones and the Triple Six Gangsters.

Vivero is documented as a gang member of the Triple Six Gangsters. He was sentenced to 176 years and 8 months to life in a state prison.
