If you're looking to save some gas money this summer or you just want to help the environment, Sacramento has numerous bike share options to choose from as alternative transportation.

Here are 4 bike share programs to consider:

1. JUMP launched an all electric bike share system last week that will run in Davis, Sacramento, and West Sacramento and will include Sac State and UC Davis. The first 300 bikes rolled out May 17 and the program will eventually reach 900 bikes total, according to the Sacramento Area Council of Governments. Go to jumpbikes.com/cities/sacramento/ to find rates and bike hubs near you.

2. Tower Bridge Bike Share is available in Sacramento, West Sacramento and UC Davis. It costs $4 an hour to use a bike and the maximum charge for riding time is $30 a day. There is no limit on how long a rider can use a bike. You can start using the program by downloading the app on your phone.

3. Practical Cycle has rental bikes available in Old Sacramento for $10 an hour. Electric Bikes, Path Bikes, Trailers and Kid's Bikes are available. All bike rentals include an optional helmet, lock and basket.

4. The State Employee BikeShare program is only available to the 230,000 workers employed by the state. The program only runs in the Sacramento region but many state employees are located in the Capitol City. Bikes are located at the State Garage at 1416 10th St. for use between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on normal business days, Monday through Friday.
