An 8-year-old girl has teamed up with an award-winning author to release a children's book about her life of the challenges and triumphs dealing with Down Syndrome.

You might recognize Sofia Sanchez. She went viral last year talking about Down Syndrome and has now been seen on many platforms, including being featured in a Target ad campaign.

Born with Down Syndrome, Sanchez was adopted from a Ukrainian orphanage at 16-months-old which brought her to the United States. Now, at just 8 years old, Sanchez is an ambassador for the organization 'Changing the Face of Beauty' and is a spokesperson for Down Syndrome awareness.

She's been through a lot in her life and wants people to know that they can thrive with diversity. That's what the book will about.

It was written by Margaret O'Hair who's not just an award-winning author but a Kindergarten teacher in Roseville.

The book debuts this month during Down Syndrome Awayness Month.
