Authorities searching for suspect after woman killed in Fair Oaks hit-and-run

At approximately 12:15 a.m., CHP responded to Fair Oaks Boulevard near Sunrise Boulevard on a report of a woman face down in the westbound traffic lane.

A woman was killed in a hit-and-run early Sunday morning as authorities continue to search for a suspect following the incident, according to the California Highway Patrol.

At approximately 12:15 a.m., CHP responded to Fair Oaks Boulevard near Sunrise Boulevard on a report of a woman face down in the westbound traffic lane.

Authorities believe the 26-year-old woman who was killed was struck by at least one car. At the time of the incident, the area was dark and the roadway was wet, officials said.

After further investigation, CHP says the woman was with friends at a nearby bar and decided to walk home. The woman’s friends took Uber and later found out what happened to her.

There are no witnesses but authorities believe they are looking for a gray vehicle due to evidence found at the scene.

CHP is asking for help from anyone who might have information. They request anyone who may know what happened to call CHP dispatch at 916-861-1300
