A Beale Airman died over the holiday weekend while hiking in Tahoe.
According to a press release from the Beale Air Force Base, Airman 1st Class Tyler Oimoen was hiking Monday evening when he died. The cause of his death is still under investigation.
Oimoen was assigned to the 9th Force Support Squadron at Beale Air Force Base as a Food Service Apprentice. He arrived at Beale a year ago from Mount Horeb, Wis.
In the press release, Lt. Col. Matthew R. Mountcastle, 9th Force Support Squadron commander, said their, "thoughts and prayers are with Airman Oimoen's family, co-workers and friends. During this difficult time we are caring for his family and co-workers with the support of the Beale community."
