SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Front Street Animal Shelter is offering free adoptions for several days due to the number of animals they have.
"Our shelter is at critical capacity," the shelter wrote in a Facebook post.
The free adoptions is an emergency effort to save lives, according to the shelter.

"So many wonderful pets are in great need of homes," said the shelter. "We want to make sure they get the happy lives they deserve!"
The adoptions will be free until Sunday, October 20.

Front Street Animal Shelter is launching a new program called a Doggie Day Out. You can take a shelter dog out for an adventure, like a coffee date, some shopping, or to the park. They hope the program leads to more adoptions.
