Shake Shack opening in the Bay this weekend

Shake Shack's Bay Area location is set to open at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Stanford Shopping Center, 660 Stanford Shopping Center, Palo Alto.

Shake Shack's Bay Area location is set to open at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Stanford Shopping Center, 660 Stanford Shopping Center, Palo Alto.

This is the first Shake Shack in the Bay Area, and only location in Northern California.

According to ABC7 in the Bay Area, customers who stop at the Palo Alto location will find a burger unique to only this location, the "Golden State Double," a double patty burger made with locally-grown grass-fed beef. The burger is topped with cheddar cheese, garlic aioli, and placed on a Tartine sweet potato bun.

The popular East Coast burger chain has more than 200 locations around the world.
